Sesuai prediksi, Samsung memperkenalkan generasi kedua tablet jagoannya, Galaxy Tab 10,1 di Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011. Ya, dibanding pendahulunya yang layarnya berukuran 7 inch, Galaxy Tab baru ini memiliki layar lebih lega seluas 10,1 inch dengan resolusi 1,280×800 pixel.
Galaxy Tab terbaru ini memakai sistem operasi Android Honeycomb, yang diklaim paling cocok dipakai di tablet dibanding generasi Android sebelumnya. Dengan demikian, ia bakal menantang tablet Honeycomb lain seperti Motorola Xoom dan LG Optimus Pad.
Dikutip detikINET dari TechRadar, Senin (14/2/2011), Samsung dilaporkan tidak melakukan kustomisasi apapun terhadap Honeycomb di tablet ini. Lalu apalagi fitur andalan lainnya?
Untuk memperbaiki performanya, Galaxy Tab 10,1 dibekali prosesor 1GHz dual-core. Disertakan pula konektivitas 802.11n Wi-Fi,HSPA+ dan Bluetooth 3.0. Kemudian kamera belakang beresolusi 8 MP dan kamera depan 2 MP.
Sedangkan sektor audio coba diperkuat dengan kehadiran dual surround speaker. Tablet ini juga dapat memainkan dan merekam video full HD. Sayangnya layarnya belum dibekali fitur Super Amoled atau semacamnya melainkan TFT LCD.
Galaxy Tab edisi pertama terjual cukup laris meski belum dapat menandingi keperkasaan Apple iPad. Dengan layar yang sepadan dan performa lebih baik, Galaxy Tab edisi kedua mungkin punya peluang lebih baik dalam mengantisipasi kehadiran iPad 2(detikinet.com)

Dilansir Inquirer dan dikutip detikINET, Rabu (23/3/2011), Galaxy Tab 8,9 memiliki layar TFT LCD dengan resolusi 1200x800, sedikit lebih tinggi dari versi 7 inch. Samsung menyediakannya dalam 3 versi storage, 16GB, 32GB dan 64GB.
